An interview with an Icebreaker: the Secret History of UK-China Trade
Stephen Perry: In 1953, Jack Perry, Chairman of the London Export Corporation, led a legendary group of British businessmen to break the 'ice' of the UK's trade embargo on China and build bridges between the two countries. After Reform and Opening Up in the 1980s, Stephen Perry took over the task of promoting trade with China from his father, which is how the Perry's became known as 'Icebreakers' in the relationship between the UK and China.
